In asphalt production we use natural gas in five locations: Lahti, Lappeenranta, Imatra, Hämeenlinna and Lohja.
The Group’s latest natural-gas-fired asphalt plant was completed at the Sammonmäki industrial area in Tuusula in late 2008.
The new asphalt plants are fitted with the equipment necessary for the production of recycled asphalt. About 10 per cent of all the asphalt we produce is recycled. The solvents used in production are being replaced with environmentally friendly products.
