Lemminkäinen Sverige Ab is Lemminkäinen Infra’s subsidiary in Sweden. The company concentrates on different infrastructure businesses like rock engineering, ground engineering and paving and mineral aggregate business.
Paving and mineral aggregate business
Lemminkäinen is the leading paving and mineral aggregate company in Nordic countries. In Sweden our business is established in Stockholm region on Siktuna municipality, where we have stationary asphalt plant. Additionally we execute road construction projects in Northern Sweden. During coming years our businesses cover the whole geographical Sweden.
Rock engineering
Our most important client in Sweden has been Trafikverket, the former Swedish rail administration. We have also started to operate in underground mining projects. In recent years Sweden has accounted for a larger share of the company’s rock engineering business than Finland. In fact, Lemminkäinen is widely recognised as Sweden’s leading tunnel builder and in 2004 was awarded the prestigious FIA quality prize. Lemminkäinen Infra has had a subsidiary Lemminkäinen Sverige AB and continuous operations in Sweden since 1994.
Our references include Sweden’s longest traffic tunnel, which was completed at Norrala in 1998, several other railway tunnels and most Botniabana’s and Ådalsbana’s tunnels on the country’s eastern railway line, which all was completed in time 2010. We have also started the recent years biggest Scandinavian underground mining project “Sjömalmen”. Project includes more than 22km transport tunnels for LKAB mining company.
Foundation engineering
Lemminkäinen is a leading contractor on complex foundation engineering projects in Sweden. Our special skills are in underpinning, deep excavations, retain and embankment walls, ground anchoring and special piling methods.
Some of our main references are underpinning of Stockholms oldest stone bridge Norrbro and the underpinning of the seaside walls of the Swedish house of parliaments as well as several soil improvement projects for railway.
The ongoing projects like improvement of stability of the E.ON dams and the underpinning of Stockholm main railway station are continuation to Lemminkäinen’s complex foundations engineering projects.
