Our management system describes the way we operate
Our business is guided by operating, environmental, safety and personnel policies. Our operating system comprises an ISO 9001 quality management system, an ISO 14001 environmental management system and an OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system.
A high-quality business chain also covers environmental and safety issues. Our common way of working is documented in our operating system. It also forms the foundation for the expansion and profitable development of our business.
Quality is our way to do work. It encompasses our whole business chain with its services and products. Each of our employees is responsible for the quality of his or her work and also for the maintenance and development of quality. Whatever we do, we do it efficiently, competitively, right first time, and in accordance with the agreed criteria. Quality is also our commitment to the achievement of environmental goals and personnel safety.
The main pillar of our mineral aggregate quality control is Lemminkäinen’s own Central Laboratory, which is approved and accredited by the Finnish Pavement Technology Advisory Council (PANK). Located in Tuusula, the Central Laboratory supervises the work of our mobile laboratories on individual work sites. We also collaborate with a number of external accredited laboratories.
Our mineral aggregate is tested systematically to ensure that it meets the requirements of standards and the CE mark. Our track ballast, asphalt, concrete and unbound base course aggregates all carry the CE mark. The quality control of our concrete aggregate is assured by Inspecta Oy. We aim to expand the scope of our aggregates’ CE marking to respond to future challenges.
